Counsellors at Huron Heights are student advocates who are available to assist in the following areas:

Educational Planning

  • helping students design personalized, realistic education plans to reach their goals

Career Information and Planning

  • providing information about potential destinations (apprenticeship, college, university and the workplace)

Personal Social Counselling

  • assisting with issues that are affecting performance in class
  • the student may be referred to an appropriate community agency to better assist with the particular issue(s)

Course Change Requests

Course changes will be considered only during the first two weeks of a semester.  Students should book an appointment to discuss course change requests with their guidance counsellor.  A course change request form must be completed and all textbooks returned before a change is official.  Students are required to attend all originally scheduled classes until they receive a new timetable.

Community Involvement
Students must complete 40 hours of community involvement activities in order to earn their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).  To enter your community involvement hours, please visit the guidance google classroom where a google form is available.
