Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 are professional development (PD) days for secondary school staff.
- Grade 9 to 12 students will not attend school, in person or virtually
- Board-operated Extended Day and Youth Development programs will be closed on Friday, June 28, 2024
About Professional Development (PD) Days
PD days are held throughout the school year to provide learning opportunities for school-based staff. This professional learning focuses on providing educators and staff with the knowledge and skills needed to support and enhance student achievement and well being.
What Secondary School Staff Are Learning
Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28, 2024 – Full Day Sessions
- Focus: Individual work finalizing course final evaluation tasks and semester end processes
- Formats: In-person with a combination of whole group, and small group discussions and planning
- Learning delivery method: Self-directed
- Presenter(s)/Facilitator(s): Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB)
- Schools Participating: All secondary schools
Content of Staff Learning
- Teachers will refer to provincial curriculum guidelines, Growing Success, and the Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting guidelines of the WRDSB
- Each school will use their individual school learning and improvement plans as anchors
