Dear Huron Heights Secondary School families,

I want to make you aware of a situation that affected our school today.

This afternoon, Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) were conducting an investigation in the parking lot near our school. Out of an abundance of caution, they elected to evacuate students and staff from a number of portables, directing them into the school building for a period of time.

These students and staff remained in the main school building for approximately 20 minutes until we were assured by WRPS that it was safe to return to the portables.

We will always take whatever precaution is necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We want to thank our partners at WRPS for helping to keep our schools safe places to learn.

As always, please call our school if you have questions or concerns.
