April 23rd, 2023
Today, April 23, is World Book Day. World Book Day was designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to give worldwide promotion of books and authors, and to encourage access to books in all languages and countries.
Books at the WRDSB
At the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), we recognize that having access to books in many languages is important, both in and out of school. To help, we have created a resource for staff as well as this resource for students and their caregivers. This resource has links for accessing physical and online books in many languages, and printable bookmarks in many languages with prompts to help you think and talk about what you are reading with your child.
