We are pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Newlands as a new Superintendent of Student Achievement and Well-Being, effective March 1, 2023.
Michelle brings her knowledge and expertise gained in her current role as a Private Schools Inspector in the Field Service Branch with the Private Schools and International Education Unit in the Ministry of Education. This builds on her prior experience as a manager, and an education officer with the Ministry, and as a principal with the Halton District School Board. Throughout, Michelle has remained focused on supporting the achievement of all students, and building strong relationships with those public education serves.
“We are so excited to have Michelle as part of the WRDSB team,” said Scott Miller, Associate Director. “Michelle’s extensive experience as a provincial leader with the Ministry of Education, in addition to her time as a school principal, has provided her with the attributes to support, serve and lead student achievement and well-being in the WRDSB.”
We look forward to welcoming Michelle to her new role with the WRDSB, and to the leadership and guidance she will provide for staff and students across the WRDSB as she focuses her efforts on student achievement and well-being.
