The beginning of Quadmester three for new and returning students in the Secondary Distance Learning Program (SDLP) in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) will begin tomorrow. Here’s what the first week will look like.

Orientation Days: February 4 and 5

SDLP teachers will be online to welcome students on the morning of February 4. Instructions for the first virtual meet for the course will be posted by the teacher in the D2L Brightspace classroom or by email. During this first meeting, the teacher will provide an overview of their course, and share what to expect in the Secondary Distance Learning Program (SDLP).

Students who log in to the D2L Brightspace WRDSB portal will be able to see their classes for Quadmester 3 and 4. The Quadmester 3 class for Thursday will ‘open’ on Thursday morning. Before the morning of February 4 students will see the classes but be unable to enter.

For students who are unable to log in on Thursday, the teacher will follow up with a phone call to assist with any technology needs or problem-solving. Please remember to refer to Tech@Home for troubleshooting tips.

For families who requested technology-free learning, distance learning teachers will make a phone call to connect and discuss daily schedules and how materials will be received and returned.

All technology, information, and resources, and their use, must clearly support these Board goals.
