Ontario monarchs are on the move, beginning their 3,000 kilometre migration to Mexico.

This Wednesday, our outdoor education staff will tag and release monarch butterflies live as part of Monarch Watch’s migration monitoring and population assessment program. This livestream event will wrap up the Monarch Madness citizen science initiative where students and families reported sightings of monarchs, larva and milkweed around our region. During this event, our outdoor education staff will also announce the school that had the greatest participation and observed the most monarchs over the last three months.

We invite everyone to join this exciting livestream event.
