Dear Huron Heights families,

Today, staff were made aware of a note found on school property that made reference to an act of violence. The threat made reference to an explosive device in the school. We immediately reported this incident to Waterloo Regional Police, who are investigating.

At this time, police believe there is no viable threat to students. Exams will continue as scheduled tomorrow.

We want to be clear that it is unacceptable to make threats towards anyone. Our students have the right to learn in a safe environment without fear. No matter the intention, we take any intimidation or threat of violence seriously.

Our priority is ensuring that our schools remain safe places where students experience a caring learning environment that addresses their well-being.

We are working closely with our partners at Waterloo Regional Police Service as they investigate. Please feel free to call our Administration at 519-896-2631 with any questions or concerns. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Sincerely,

Jeff Klinck
